Preventative maintenance or Planned Maintenance (PM for short) is maintenance that is regularly performed on your HVAC system to lessen the likelihood of it failing. Preventative maintenance is performed while the equipment is still working, so that it does not break down unexpectedly, after hours and during a cold or hot snap.
Preventative maintenance is planned so that any required resources are available.
At Performance Heating and Air, we schedule the maintenance twice a year. Once in the spring to check the operation of you’re A/C system and then again in the fall to check the heating system.
During our visits we check:
- Inspect, lubricate and make any necessary adjustments to your heating and cooling systems.
- We check heat exchangers, thermostats, blowers, amp draws, wire connections, safety devices, refrigerant and burners
- We oil or lube any motors
- We inspect and replace filters.
Did you know that preventive maintenance maximizes your equipment life and reduces expensive repair costs? Performing routine maintenance on your system ensures your warranty will remain valid with the manufacturer. Let us keep the records for you. In the event you have a warranty claim, we will process all the paperwork.
